Hello! I’m Supriya Monica D’Costa

I’m a Product Designer with 5+ years of experience designing complex digital products at scale.

I currently work within Microsoft’s Security organization, where I design enterprise compliance experiences across Microsoft Purview.

My approach combines interaction design, product thinking, visual design, prototyping, and systems thinking. I enjoy working closely with product managers, engineers and researchers to understand the problem, challenge assumptions, explore possibilities, and bring clarity to complex decisions.

As I’ve grown as a designer, I’ve increasingly taken ownership of ambiguous problems, driven design direction, aligned cross-functional teams, and advocated for experiences that balance user needs with business and technical constraints.

Hello! I’m Supriya Monica D’Costa

I am an avid traveller and made the most of the work-from-home era by becoming a digital nomad, travelling across India for the past three years. I’m now back in Bangalore full time. How does it feel you may ask? Well, I miss travel but it’s great to own a cupboard and not live out of suitcases (yes plural).

I was one of the Culture Champions and the Give Champ for my team at Microsoft, where I loved organising team-bonding activities, outings, and generally finding excuses for everyone to have some fun together.

I am a serial hobbyist. Right now I’m learning to play the flute. My portfolio of hobbies includes collecting rare plants, being outdoorsy, knitting and crocheting and to my great delight, I’m back into reading books!

Before pivoting to tech, I spent five years as a Fashion Designer, working across R&D embroidery for luxury fashion houses, an export house, entrepreneurship, and teaching as a part-time Assistant Professor.

...and no I’m not from Goa (unfortunately), I grew up in Kalimpong.

GIVE CAMPAIGN

My favourite part of working at Microsoft, outside the actual work, is being part of the Give campaign. I hosted many volunteering activities and raised funds for the doggos at PAWS, Chennai and Semschan, Leh.
